Indian travelers bringing gold from abroad must follow specific customs regulations. Men can bring 20g of gold jewelry duty-free (₹50,000), while women can bring 40g (₹100,000). Gold above these limits incurs customs duty (13.75%-38.5%), and anything over 1kg is not allowed. Gold bars and coins do not qualify for duty-free allowance. To avoid penalties, travelers must declare excess gold at customs and pay applicable duty.
